York, Our First Anniversary

York!  The historical capital of the North.  The victors of the war of the roses, and holding a lead role in the recent series of the “Last Kingdom” and indeed, “Braveheart”.

A Mecca for any medieval British history buff and a decent road trip to boot.  …. Yes!  It was John who choose this one.  Mind you, the choices available is not gargantuan when the home office still has your passports and your wedding anniversary is in January.

But why complain when you have millenniums of history to fascinate about, 2 great rivers, the most important cathedral in the north and the centre of chocolate in Britain.

We did it all, walked the walls, sailed the river, climbed the minster, quaked on the ghost tour, and guzzled the odd chocy or two.

If visiting the UK, don’t forget York, it’s my kind of town.
